Moving to Silicon Valley. 2020 Relocation Tips.

Nestled between San Francisco and San Jose, Silicon Valley is a 48-mile-long region south of the Bay Area synonymous with the worldwide technology boom. Home to Apple, Google, Facebook and more, it’s definitely a high-demand location for those in the tech industry. And if you’re moving there, congratulations: you’re relocating to one of the most successful and beautiful (average temperature between 72-77F!) regions in California.

The primary challenges to relocation is the traffic: the Bay Area as a whole often has high congestion, slender roads and limited parking. Average commute time is about 60 minutes, so expect both traffic and challenges in navigating the streetsfor a moving truck, and plan out where your truck can park for offloading your precious cargo upon arrival.

Regarding the commute time, many people who move to Silicon Valley find the excellent public transportation options such as BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), CalTrain, AceTrain and more as the more attractive option, and often dispose of their cars in favor of using them (one less thing to move!). Silicon Valley is also expanding bikeways, adding another choice.

Overall, Silicon Valley is an excellent part of California to relocate to: it’s clean, affluent, and family friendly, with excellent schools and lots to do. As long as you make plans in advance for your move, helped along by the right team with extensive experience in the area such as Smart People Moving, you should have no problem making the trip!
